Ajai Lyndon Thapliyal (ALT) was admitted to practice in the State of Victoria in November 1988 having won a Supreme Court of Victoria Prize during his Law studies at Monash University. Over the ensuing years ALT has gained significant experience as a barrister and solicitor practising extensively in the areas of commercial litigation, criminal and general commercial law.

- Acting for developer against major construction companies and a piling subcontractor in a $4 Million dispute at VCAT in relation to defective works;
- Acting for a shareholder in an proceeding in the Supreme Court of Victoria alleging oppression under the Corporations Law and obtaining a seven figure award for the client;
- Acting for a developer in the Planning List in a landmark decision declaring void Section 173 Agreements
- Acting for beneficiaries of a Family Trust in million dollar litigation in the Supreme Court of Victoria alleging breach of trust and obtaining a significant settlement at mediation
- Acting for a senior employee in breach of employment contract proceedings in the Supreme Court of Victoria against a publicly listed corporate employer represented by a top tier firm and obtaining a significant settlement at mediation
- Acting for a corporate farming enterprise in proceedings in the Supreme Court of Victoria against a manufacturer and retailer of farm equipment and obtaining a significant six figure settlement based on the supply of defective farming equipment
- Acting for a start-up business in successfully defending County Court proceedings brought by a former employer alleging breach of confidence and other employment duties founded upon the alleged unlawful taking of confidential customer lists
- Wills and estate disputes including Testator Family Maintenance claims (challenges to the will)
- General commercial litigation including Australian Consumer Law, Corporations Act, Building and Construction, Employment, Property (including boundary disputes/claims of adverse possession), General Insurance, Planning, Migration Act and debt collection
